I’m Mina. And welcome to Honoka Studio! I left my career as an architect to start this practice of hand-building ceramics. I consider mindfulness part of the function of every object I make. It’s certainly part of my process.
The word HonoKa 仄か is Japanese. Hono means ‘an ephemeral harmonious and warm feeling’. Ka means ‘flower.’
Both of these ideas are foundational motifs in the aesthetics of my work. So is the philosophy of wabi-sabi, which embraces the ‘imperfect, impermanent, and incompleteness’ of the natural world.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Feel free to reach out and let me know what you think.
XOXO
